Job Summary
The EH&S Specialist will support environmental, health, and safety programs across engineering and manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate brings a well-rounded understanding of EH&S practices with a focus on hazard identification, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and hazardous waste management.
This position requires daily coordination with cross-functional teams including engineers, production staff, and leadership, as well as timely support for multiple ongoing projects.
Role & Responsibilities
Manage and improve EH&S programs (e.g., Job Hazard Analyses, PPE Assessments, RIDII, ergonomics, contractor safety, etc.).
Conduct EHS inspections, noise and ventilation surveys, respirator fit testing, and IH sampling.
Lead or support root cause investigations for safety concerns and incidents.
Track corrective actions and contribute to injury reduction and safety initiatives.
Develop and deliver EH&S training to employees and contractors.
Support behavioral-based safety programs and EH&S strategic initiatives.
Assist with safety team efforts and site evacuations.
Perform ergonomic assessments (industrial and office).
Manage hazardous waste and universal waste accumulation areas.
Interpret OSHA, NIOSH, and ANSI standards to ensure compliance.
Analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and drive improvement.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards.
Practical application of safety and industrial hygiene principles.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Detail-oriented, well-organized, and self-motivated.
Comfortable with independent work and team collaboration.
Willingness to take on new responsibilities and rotate into other EH&S areas (environmental, sustainability).
Desired Skills
Prior experience delivering EH&S training.
Ability to remain calm under pressure or in potentially stressful environments.
Familiarity with EH&S databases or reporting systems.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred (EHS-related field ideal).
1-2 years of relevant EH&S experience required.
