Overview Administration of the entire endeavor is the responsibility of the Director and other senior administrators (Associate and Assistant Directors). The size and complexity of the ECU Office of Student Financial Aid, the Financial Services Call Center require several Associate and Assistant Directors. Each Associate Director has substantial independent administrative authority and discretion within the specific area of responsibilities assigned to the position. This position supervises the Counseling staff, the Reception team, and the Manager and oversees the operations of the Financial Services Call Center.

Responsibilities

35% This position supervises the work of the Counseling staff, the Reception team and supervises the Manager and oversees the operations of the Financial Services Call Center; participates in the writing of Procedures, Rules, and Regulations for compliance with current state and federal regulations; conducts training for staff as new PRRs are identified. Oversees daily operations for Reception team (who work front desk and respond to all emails to the FinAid@ecu.edu email account) and Financial Services Call Center staff – both of which are ‘entry points’ at the University and require both great sensitivity and ‘expert generalist’ staffing. This position is highly visible on campus and across the state because it engages in many of the speaking/outreach events. The position is responsible for overseeing more than 80 outreach events or speaking events annually.

35% This position is responsible for Customer Service. Customer Service encompasses all levels of direct and indirect communications, ensuring excellence in all interactions with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the community at large. The Associate Director works with the Financial Aid Office website, social media web presence, email inquiries to the FinAid@ecu.edu office email, general inquiries, the Financial Services Call Center, and inventories and orders all printed materials for students and parents.

20% The Associate Director, Financial Aid Counseling writes all presentations and trains counseling staff on presenting material. Coordinates all outreach efforts and assigns counseling staff to represent the Financial Aid Office at events on campus and across the state.

10% This position may be asked to represent the Director during its absence at all levels of the University, including but not limited to, interactions with the Associate Provost for Learner Operations; campus constituencies, including faculty, staff, students and parents; and officials of state and federal agencies. This position represents the office on key University committees and task forces.
