Overview
Director of Operations at CHS Inc. Location: Taylor or Dickinson, ND. CHS Southwest Grain is a diverse cooperative covering southwest North Dakota and NW South Dakota with operations in Grain, Agronomy, Energy and Feed. The role sits within the CHS Southwest Grain business unit and focuses on senior leadership and operational excellence across multiple locations. Responsibilities
Oversee operations of multi-commodity product lines, including agronomy, grain, energy and feed across multiple locations within the footprint. Serve as a leader between operations and agronomy product line management and operations staff. Develop and manage operating, capital, and lease budgets. Lead and develop a team of managers by providing strategic guidance and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Drive organizational change by designing and executing change management strategies that align stakeholders and ensure successful adoption of new processes. Collaborate with customer-facing sales and origination teams to develop and execute strategic marketing plans that drive short-term and long-term sales and revenue growth. Support market share development and pricing strategy across multiple product lines to achieve long-term market share goals. Ensure inventory is in place and accurately accounted for. Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratios and market share in relation to standards and industry trends. Ensure effective control of all product line results and take corrective actions to meet marketing objectives within budgets. Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image across product lines, promotional materials, and events. Stay informed of financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize competitive impact. Establish and maintain relationships with key industry and strategic community partners. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct unsafe actions or conditions. Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned. Minimum Qualifications (required)
High School diploma or GED 7+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing responsibilities Additional Qualifications
Ability to decide and work effectively both independently and collaboratively Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others Strong negotiation, public relations and organizational skills Associate’s degree in Business, Agronomy or Agriculture-related program preferred Agribusiness/Location management/Agronomy Sales experience preferred Certified Crop Advisor license preferred Co-op experience preferred Pre-employment screening may be required as per job requirements and industry guidelines Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $120,200.00/yr - $200,800.00/yr. CHS offers a competitive total rewards package including medical, dental, vision, wellness programs, life insurance, 401(k), pension, profit sharing, and other benefits subject to eligibility.
