The Unified Communications Services Engineer will oversee the implementation, maintenance, and operations of the University\'s Digital Workplace Unified Communications Services systems and infrastructure. This role will provide engineering and technical support for digital workplace communications infrastructure and services to ensure systems are operating at the highest efficiency. The Unified Communications Services Engineer will assist in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining University telephony equipment across multiple platforms in addition to Zoom Digital Workplace Services. The role may involve providing technical and training assistance to other IS teams and ensuring that industry best practices are applied across all relevant technologies and procedures. The Unified Communications Services Engineer will positively impact UCSF\'s operations and culture by ensuring UCSF\'s IS digital workplace unified communications are integrated and effective in service of the University\'s mission. This team member will advance the University\'s mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCSF\'s vision while modeling UCSF\'s culture and values. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 (Annual Rate). Responsibilities

Provide technical and training assistance to other IS teams; ensure best practices across technologies and procedures. Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree, or equivalent combination of experience/training, in computer science, engineering, computer information systems, or related fields. 3 to 5+ years of experience in unified communications, information technology, Zoom Digital Workplace, or network operations. Ability to perform complex analysis and lead design, specification, and installation of distribution and access electronics; evaluate and test new or enhanced electronics and services; provide expert advice to users/units. Thorough knowledge of professional communications and network concepts; ability to resolve issues with established parameters, creativity, and independent judgment; escalate as necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to a diverse audience. Ability to establish positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers. Strong organizational skills and ability to balance priorities; experience in project-based environments with schedule management and risk/issue communication. Strong problem-solving skills; ability to scope solutions based on resources and timelines; ability to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and decide with integrity. Creative thinking and willingness to adopt new technologies or processes; ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Experience supporting large-scale telephony implementations and Zoom Digital Workplace Services in a higher education environment. Hands-on experience with network transport, design, planning, and implementation; understanding of OSI layers; familiarity with voice applications and unified communications service networks. Experience with service management, asset management, and billing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Pinnacle); experience with PBX, voicemail, call center management, carrier services, and Zoom Digital Workplace Services.
