Senior Network Security Engineer, IT / Cybersecurity Team – Location: Palo Alto, CA (on-site). The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for architecting, implementing, securing, optimizing, and maintaining 1X’s network infrastructure. This includes corporate offices, data centers, cloud environments, co-located facilities, wired/wireless networks, and service provider interconnections. You will ensure high performance, scalability, reliability, and security across all networks and work with cross-functional teams to define requirements, execute site builds, and apply best practices. Responsibilities
Architect, design, and implement secure and optimized network solutions for corporate offices, cloud infrastructure, data centers, and other 1X sites. Manage and execute site builds, including secure office network deployments. Secure, configure, implement, and manage wireless network environments with best-practice security. Troubleshoot wired, wireless, and service provider connectivity issues to ensure maximum availability and performance. Continuously optimize network performance, scalability, reliability, and security. Collaborate with IT, business, and operations teams to define requirements and deliver robust networking solutions. Develop and maintain documentation including network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and policies. Travel occasionally, locally and domestically, to support site deployments or audits as needed. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in network architecture, design, security, and troubleshooting. Solid expertise in wireless network security, including configuration and implementation. Strong knowledge of secure network design concepts (IPSEC, TLS), routing protocols (IGP, EGP), and hybrid on-prem/cloud environments. Proven experience designing and managing secure network architectures across cloud providers and data centers. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to diagnose and resolve complex network security issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, CCIE) are highly preferred. Experience with RADIUS configuration and deployment. Benefits & Compensation
