Dana-Farber Cancer Institute . In collaboration with a physician, the Oncology NP/PA manages outpatient care. The NP/PA is responsible for acute and chronic problems related to the disease, treatment and/or conditions. The NP/PA provides anticipatory guidance, patient and family education, and psychological and emotional support. The NP/PA has prescriptive authority which includes schedule II through V controlled substances in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The NP/PA is a member of an interdisciplinary care team that requires effective communication and collaboration with co-workers at the Institute as well as collaborating institutions and agencies. The role requires critical thinking, an understanding of research principles and practices and leadership that improves the quality of care and advances nursing/medical care within the work setting and throughout the community. This position will weekend rotation coverage. Responsibilities

Collaborate with physicians to manage therapeutic regimens for acute and chronic problems associated with cancer and related conditions. Provide anticipatory guidance, patient and family education, and psychological and emotional support. Practice with prescriptive authority under applicable Massachusetts regulations (schedules II–V). Engage in interdisciplinary care team activities and maintain effective communication with Institute staff and external partners. Demonstrate critical thinking and leadership to improve quality of care and support continuous learning aligned with the Institute\'s Mission, Vision and Core Values. Participate in weekend rotation coverage as required.

Qualifications – Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Authorization to practice in an expanded NP role in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current certification from a nationally recognized accrediting body approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing for Nurse Practitioners. Minimum of 24 contact hours beyond generic education in pharmacotherapeutics. Master\'s degree in Nursing. Minimum of 1 year oncology nursing experience or 1 year Nurse Practitioner experience; Oncology NP experience preferred. Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Federal DEA numbers. Certification in Oncology Nursing preferred (OCN, AOCN, CPON, BMTCN, CPHON).

Qualifications – Physician Assistant (PA)

Master\'s Degree and successful completion of an AAPA/NCCPA accredited Physician Assistant Studies program. Must be NCCPA Certified and licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts. Maintain current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Licenses. Complete 100 hours of CME every 2 years in accordance with national and state regulations. PA I: No professional experience required. PA II: 2 years of qualifying professional Physician Assistant experience. PA III: 5 years of qualifying professional Physician Assistant experience.

Pay Transparency

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with salaries determined by business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate\'s experience, skills and qualifications. Examples include: Physician Asst I: $126,100 - $145,500; Physician Asst II: $137,300 - $157,200; Physician Asst III: $152,500 - $174,600; Nurse Practitioner: $125K - $283K (40 hour/week). Union pay ranges are determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
