Hyatt Regency Boston Responsibilities
As a member of the hotel leadership team, the Director of Finance is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership. This position reports to the hotel General Manager. The Director of Finance plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting and control function of the division, reports operational results, and provides financial support to hotel management. Financial Management: oversight of generating accurate and reliable financial reports, data, and analysis, month-end close, forecasting/budgeting, internal/external audits, owner/corporate reporting, etc. Operational Leadership: cultivate finance talents and non-finance functional team leaders in financial literacy; promote inclusion, diversity, and equity; colleague wellbeing; operational efficiency improvement; accountability, etc. Internal Controls and Risk: risk assessment and mitigation; maintaining internal controls and segregation of duties; keeping up with local legislation changes; contract/license/permit administration, etc. Business Partner: provide actionable analytical insights to maximize business results; support strategic decision-making; partner with the operational team to optimize results and track performance. Other duties include: short and long-term planning and management of the Accounting function; participate in total hotel management as a member of the Hotel Leadership Committee; manage and lead hotel on-site accounting functions; supervise owner reporting; provide reports and respond to inquiries; coordinate audits; prepare financial statements and variance analyses; oversee IT function and have understanding of hotel systems and Microsoft Office; monitor forecasting and ensure attainable targets; coach and develop staff; promote inclusion and diversity; monitor industry trends; manage strategic initiatives; and embrace technology-enabled management. Salary range:
$140,600 - $149,600 . Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds 6+ years of progressive hotel Accounting/Finance experience Pre-opening hotel experience preferred Service-oriented with professional presentation skills Hospitality or Accounting/Finance degree preferred Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills with ability to improve the bottom line Clear written and verbal English communication Advanced MS Word and Excel skills Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills Maintain communications with Corporate Staff Benefits
