A respected healthcare organization is seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to perform patient specimen collection and processing in a professional and compliant medical setting. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent patient interaction skills, and adherence to healthcare safety and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely blood draws and specimen collection following established safety and laboratory protocols.
  • Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and handling of all specimens for testing and transport.
  • Verify patient identity and confirm orders before collection to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain collection equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control standards.
  • Greet and assist patients with professionalism and compassion, explaining procedures clearly.
  • Record patient and specimen information into laboratory systems accurately.
  • Maintain detailed logs, reports, and documentation per regulatory and quality assurance requirements.
  • Support other clinical and administrative functions, including basic clerical duties, inventory, and supply management.
  • Consistently uphold facility cleanliness and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • MediClear Certification (or equivalent healthcare compliance credential) required.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred.
  • 1+ year of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital, clinic, or diagnostic lab environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of specimen processing procedures and clinical documentation systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and committed to patient safety.
