Overview

This position shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen mats, kitchen areas, public space areas, spa areas and other assigned areas. This role is committed to ensuring that all procedures are performed to the department and company standards and serves as an ambassador for The Umstead Hotel & Spa.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of proper maintenance and use of equipment
• Monitor and maintain safety, cleanliness, sanitation and organization of corridors, housekeeping storage areas and public areas as assigned (e.g., deep cleaning of kitchen mats, removing trash and linen, wiping down shelves/counters, vacuuming carpets and area rugs, sweeping and waxing floors, relocating improperly stored items to proper storage areas, etc.)
• Follow proper procedures to report any damages or maintenance problems
• Report to work on time and according to posted schedule
• Be detail oriented, organized and flexible; ensure completion of all general cleaning duties as assigned; check in with supervisor for additional assignments throughout the shift
• Report any damage or problems with guest rooms, back-of-house areas and equipment
• Job requires constant walking, bending, lifting, stretching, use of a pressure washer or water hose, pushing and moving of large mats and carts, including climbing staircases

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Must be detail oriented, organized and flexible
• Ability to complete general cleaning duties and follow supervisor instructions
• Ability to handle physical requirements of the job (standing/walking for extended periods, bending, lifting, and moving equipment)
