Overview

The Phlebotomist III- Float represents the face of our company to patients who come to CLIENT, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The Phlebotomist III- Float draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The Phlebotomist III- Float has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The Phlebotomist III- Float is responsible for providing coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles and ensuring that daily activities of the Patient Service Center/Mobile/Long Term Care/In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time. Leadership behaviors are demonstrated with a focus on process excellence and confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to work and direct daily activity in a doctor’s office, a patient service center, in a house call environment, long term care or as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Step in for a Phlebotomist III- Float and lead one or more PSR on site; act as coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees and provide onboarding for new clients.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for staff and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
  • Focus on high-complexity and/or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy skills, with strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborate with multiple functions (Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics) due to specialty or complex test orders.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Provide coverage across multiple locations and roles to support daily operations in PSC/IOP, office, mobile, or long-term care environments.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

  • Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.

Offer of Employment Process

When making any offer of employment to a successful candidate, Mindlance staff informs the candidate of the client’s contingent offer. Upon successful completion of the background check and drug screen, submission of all Mindlance paperwork along with client-specific documents, the associate will be cleared for assignment. Start instructions are typically provided the Friday prior to the candidate’s start date by the account management team.
