Warehouse Manager at Comfort Systems USA Mid South is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and efficiency of warehouse operations. This role oversees the logistics of receiving, processing, storing, and reporting inventory, as well as the timely delivery of materials to job sites. The Warehouse Manager will manage and develop warehouse staff, ensure inventory accuracy, optimize workflows, and enforce safety and compliance standards. This position collaborates with other departments, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless operations and high service levels.
Position Description
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and efficiency of warehouse operations at Comfort Systems USA Mid South. This role oversees the logistics of receiving, processing, storing, and reporting inventory, as well as the timely delivery of materials to job sites. The Warehouse Manager will manage and develop warehouse staff, ensure inventory accuracy, optimize workflows, and enforce safety and compliance standards. Key duties include supervising daily warehouse activities, coordinating shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, implementing process improvements, and supporting the company’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The Warehouse Manager will also collaborate with other departments, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless operations and high service levels.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record to operate company vehicles.
- Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in extreme climate conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Must complete and pass a Physical Fitness Assessment assigned for this position.
- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or on-call as needed, especially during peak periods.
- Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, processing, storing, and distributing inventory.
- Supervise and develop warehouse staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory accuracy through regular audits.
- Coordinate shipments and deliveries to job sites, ensuring timely and efficient logistics.
- Implement and monitor process improvements to optimize warehouse workflows and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless operations and high service levels.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, as needed.
- Enforce safety and compliance standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the company’s operational goals.
