Overview

Saiia Construction, a MasTec company, is currently hiring for a Heavy Equipment Operator with GPS Dozer experience in the Pittsburg, TX area.

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment including excavator, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks to move materials to and from designated areas. The role requires participation in required training and ensuring all established safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA and MSHA regulations are followed.

Responsibilities

• Excavator Operation: Operates excavator to dig holes and trenches, remove and transport earth, gravel, ore, rock, and other materials; starts engine, controls hydraulic shovel or attachments; may utilize GPS grade technology on this machine.

• Bulldozer - Grader Operator: Operates bulldozer or grader to gouge out, level, and distribute soil, sand, ore, rock, and other materials; attaches and uses various implements; uses controls to maneuver and set blade; may utilize GPS grade technology.

• Rock / Articulated / Dump / Roll Off Truck Driver: Operates trucks equipped with dump bodies to transport and dump loose materials; dumps contents by tilting the bed; operates to move material on roadways or job sites as designated.

• Front-End Loader Operator: Operates loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage, loading, or processing areas and to load trucks.

• Compactor Operator: Operates a heavy roller to compact soil, sand, rock, gravel, or industrial byproducts to required compaction; manages speed, direction, and passes to achieve proper compaction.

• Scraper / Tractor Operator: Operates scraper to move, haul, and grade earth; controls loading gate, depth of cut, and dumping; connects power to attachments as needed.

• Water Truck Driver: Transports water for construction projects and sprays water on roadways to control dust; inspects, services, and performs routine adjustments as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and related state and federal regulations.

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.

• Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.

• Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.

• Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.
