Overview

Barista role at Crescent Hotels & Resorts for the JW Marriott Reston Station project. The opportunity focuses on preparing beverages, delivering guest service, and supporting a fast-paced café environment at a luxury hotel location.

What will you be doing?

  • Prepare and serve beverages: Accurately prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages according to standardized recipes and customer preferences. Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Customer Service: Greet guests warmly and provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service. Engage with customers to take orders, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Sanitation: Keep the work area, equipment, and customer seating areas clean and organized. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of food and beverages.
  • Cash Handling and POS: Accurately operate the POS system to process payments, handle cash, and issue receipts. Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, if applicable.
  • Stocking and Inventory: Replenish supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, napkins, and other café essentials. Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low stock or supply needs.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu items, seasonal offerings, and preparation techniques. Stay up to date with promotions and new items.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Ability to meet standards of appearance. Can communicate well with guests.
  • Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Willingness to pitch in and help coworkers as part of a team.
