The
Chronic Registered Nurse
is responsible for providing and coordinating
clinically competent care
for an assigned group of patients living with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD). This role focuses on delivering safe, effective dialysis therapy, assessing and evaluating patient needs, and ensuring adherence to care plans and facility standards. The RN will participate in patient education, quality improvement initiatives, and leadership activities that enhance patient outcomes and overall clinic performance. Responsibilities
Perform systematic
patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
before, during, and after dialysis treatments. Collaborate with the
interdisciplinary healthcare team
to ensure high-quality care and treatment compliance. Document all aspects of patient care in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Provide
patient and family education
regarding disease management, treatment options, and transplant awareness. Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses. Direct and delegate tasks to RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and Patient Care Technicians as appropriate. Ensure proper laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures. Respond to medical emergencies and initiate
CPR or emergency protocols
as required. Participate in staff training, new employee orientation, and quality improvement programs. Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with infection control standards. Required Experience
Minimum
1 year of nephrology nursing
experience as a Registered Nurse within the last 2 years. Chronic hemodialysis experience
required. Minimum
9 months of RN experience
and at least
3 months in dialysis
prior to assuming charge responsibilities. Preferred Experience
Prior leadership or charge nurse experience. Familiarity with Fresenius Kidney Care or similar clinical environments. Required Skills
