The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon.

Position Summary:
Provide support in implementation of the Zero Suicide Project in communities throughout the YK Delta region. Assisting in planning and coordinating trainings related to suicide prevention. Providing case management and Calricaraq/qaruyun counseling for individuals identified at risk through this project. Collaborates with Village Tribal Council, BH Staff, Schools and other social service agencies and completes required documentation related to the project. Travel in small planes required.
Position Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job element satisfactorily. The components listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. RHS certification preferred. Behavioral Health Aide, or Chemical Dependency counselor certification preferred Experience in a cross-cultural setting, preferably with Alaskan Native cultures. Yupi’k speaker preferred. Knowledgeable in basic computer skills for basic entry necessary
