Location: Santa Rosa, California 95405 (Sonoma County) Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) Unit Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Locum Tenens Start Date: October 6, 2025 End Date: January 5, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30); 4x12 available upon request Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratio: 1:3 Charting System: Epic Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period Estimated Weekly Salary: $2110 - $2260 Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery and postpartum nursing experience (required) Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at submission) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate AWHONN Advanced certification preferred Previous travel nursing experience required Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Strong precepting and mentoring skills are a plus Willingness to float between similar units and affiliate hospitals as needed Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in Labor & Delivery or a comparable specialty Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a lower rate Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients in a 10-bed LDRP unit Triage obstetrical patients and manage high-risk antepartum cases Circulate for C-sections and assist with 200-300 facility births per month Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy Maintain and manage central lines (CVC/PICC) and perform sterile vaginal exams Utilize intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration Implement infection control protocols, isolation precautions, and PPE usage Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to similar nursing units or affiliate hospitals as required Why Choose Santa Rosa for Your Next Travel Nursing Job?
