The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance, has a full-time vacancy for a LPA Project Engineer.
Summary To evaluate, review, and manage the planning and design processes for project development of bridge structures relative to Bridge Design Consultants for the Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance in support of the Department’s Municipal Bridge Program.
Qualifications
Master of Science in civil engineering, or Bachelor of Science in civil engineering plus MBA.
One year of civil engineering experience post-PE licensure, or three years with a BSc, or five years with an associate degree in civil technology.
Valid driver’s license and PE license in New Hampshire.
Responsibilities
Manage and review municipal and consultant transportation projects, ensuring timely plan review and resolution of technical issues.
Review and check detailed contract bridge plans according to standards.
Evaluate and review engineering studies, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal bridges.
Research and analyze design methods, technology, and practices for bridges and highway structures.
Review technical proposals and fee submissions from consultants.
Train and mentor less experienced personnel.
Coordinate with various agencies and officials for project completeness and accuracy.
Assess existing structures and perform capacity calculations.
Assist with the Municipal State Aid Bridge Program compliance and administration.
Conduct site investigations and provide recommendations.
Represent the Bureau in meetings with officials and consultants.
