Are you experienced with installing and updating hardware, troubleshooting, and implementing security? Are you open to traveling to other offices to support company continuity? If so, our Systems Administrator opportunity may be the next step in your IT career growth. The Systems Administrator assists in maintenance and administration of the firm’s IT infrastructure and provides Tier III support for deployments, device management, servers/services, and specific applications. Ability to travel to all Benesch offices/datacenters for maintenance and new buildouts when required. Responsibilities include managing performance monitoring, setting up new servers, maintaining existing ones, and managing physical infrastructure and inventory (UPS, network gear, servers). The role supports coordination, installation, testing, and technical tasks for local network systems and participates in security vulnerability remediation and network/server security procedures. A mindset of excellence, problem solving, improvement/automation, and teamwork is essential. Essential Functions
Performs daily system monitoring, reviews logs, and verifies completion of scheduled jobs. Develops and maintains documentation for network processes and procedures. Assists with MDM and Windows OS management and deployment for clients. Completes network printer queue setup and maintenance. Tests and assists with deployment of new desktop and server operating systems and browsers. Communicates with software, hardware, and network vendors on complex support issues. Remediation of vulnerabilities by patching or configuration changes. Physical datacenter/switch closets: organization, cable management, monitoring, maintenance. Assist in new office buildouts: racking equipment, patching, installing wireless access points and cameras. Maintain IT infrastructure hardware, cloud, and software including Active Directory/GPOs, network infrastructure, VMware/Hyper-V clusters, Microsoft 365, and other infrastructure apps. Assist in system monitoring and review of logs and technical controls. Oversee infrastructure inventory and IP address management. Test and assist with deployment of new OS and applications; assist with distribution of updates and patches across systems. Provide Tier III helpdesk support and enterprise application support; Microsoft Hybrid Cloud/365. Evaluate, test, recommend, and implement software and network solutions. Develop and maintain technical documentation of infrastructure. Participate in training and industry certification to learn new skills. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
The Systems Administrator should have 2–4 years of experience in application/desktop support or a related technical role, preferably in a professional services environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to collaborate across teams. Responsibilities include managing datacenter and switch closet setups, basic network troubleshooting, Windows Server/Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies (including Entra, virtual networks, and conditional access), and supporting Windows client OS, iOS, and common business applications. Occasional evening or weekend work and up to 15% travel to office locations are required. Certifications in related technologies are preferred. Benesch is an equal opportunity employer.
