Senior Systems Engineer-Manufacturing Plant Floor Systems. General Motors is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead a team in deploying and updating software applications used globally in GM's manufacturing plants. This role involves hands-on work building full-stack application environments based on detailed requirements and system specifications, with plant-specific configuration, testing, and issue resolution. The role may require travel to physical plant locations and work during manufacturing plant downtime. What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Manage day-to-day tasks for a team of deployment resources to meet project timelines. Install and configure virtual servers in plant data centers with minimal supervision. Coordinate launch and deployment activities with IT Project Management, escalating risks as necessary. Identify repeatable deployment actions for automation via scripting or CI/CD pipelines. Validate application functionality with in-plant systems and provide site-specific business configuration. Coordinate testing with upstream and downstream plant software to ensure data continuity. Investigate IT system integration problems and provide technical input for resolution. Apply knowledge of software development and monitoring tools to maintain uptime and performance. Maintain technical documentation reflecting accurate production installations. Learn and apply new technical concepts quickly across multiple applications. Review pull requests and collaborate with developers on user stories and test cases. Engage in development activities, brainstorm solutions, and drive delivery efforts. Demonstrate technical depth in multi-layer solutioning, performance tuning, and fault tolerance. Travel to plant locations for workshops or deployment activities; may require working during downtime. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent work experience considered. Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL Web application servers: WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, IIS Infrastructure: Server provisioning, virtual machines, networking, cluster servers OS: Linux, UNIX, Windows Server; Cloud technology Tools: Azure DevOps, IT Service Manager, PowerBI, Jenkins, Chef, GitHub, Fortify, SonarQube, Artifactory, Jira Strong .NET/C# and scripting (Python or PowerShell) Experience leading technology teams with strategic/tactical responsibilities Experience with Agile software delivery and code reviews Knowledge of end-to-end applications hosted on Kubernetes with emphasis on scalability and availability Ability to diagnose issues from browser to infrastructure to network to database Experience in IT Enterprise Security concepts Kepware: configuring IoT Gateway to integrate PLCs with upper-level applications Desired/Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience in manufacturing AI and Machine Learning models 5+ years integrating applications with industrial PLCs or robotics in manufacturing 5+ years in test automation Java development experience React UI development experience Work Eligibility and Benefits
