Overview
Capital Region BOCES Northeastern Regional Information Center (NERIC) Student Services department provides technical assistance, support, and training of school district personnel in the use of administrative software systems, including student management, cafeteria services, data analytics, and special education applications. The incumbent will provide these services via centralized phone, email, and web-conferencing support, with occasional on-site support. The ideal candidate possesses experience with training methods, software applications, strong communication and problem-solving skills, impeccable customer service, and attention to detail. What You Will Do
As a Student Administrative Systems Support Specialist, you will be the lifeline for school district offices across the state. Responsibilities include: Provide support to clients via phone, email, or WebEx, answering questions, advising on system usage, troubleshooting issues, and interfacing with software vendors. Serve as the subject matter expert on administrative systems used by school districts (student management, cafeteria services, special education applications), and support NYS data warehouse, testing, data security and privacy requirements, and other services supported by a BOCES Regional Information Center. College degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 3–5 years of experience with software applications or training/support; High School equivalency with 7 years of experience considered Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems Ability to implement training via phone, email, web-conferencing, and in-person Experience in school district operations is ideal but not required Customer service-oriented with a desire for continuous learning and skill development How to Apply
