To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for students by maintaining order on a school bus or van by directly supporting individual children as needed. Assist the driver in maintaining appropriate student conduct on the bus or van. Assist young or disabled students with getting on and off the bus or van; operate chair lift; assist students in crossing streets; assist with seat belts and harnesses where appropriate. Ensure that students get on and off the bus or van in an orderly fashion. Assist the driver with disciplinary problems. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that may be assigned. Qualifications

Ability to work with others. Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students. Ability to read and write, to understand verbal instructions, and to communicate with fellow employees, students, and Director of Transportation. Attend driver training days and mandatory inservice meetings. Reports to: Director of Transportation. Job Goal

Terms of Employment

Hourly, work round the clock and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board. Evaluation
