Perkins Eastman Architects DPC seeks a Senior Project Architect (Healthcare) for our Los Angeles, CA location. May telecommute up to one day per week. Primary Responsibilities
Lead multi-disciplinary project team in development of aesthetic and technical design. Collaborate with Project Designer for project execution. Lead team in production and project documentation including drawings and specifications. Work on all phases of project design, construction documentation production, and construction material choice. Develop, check, and coordinate technical aspects of project, including BIM modeling. Coordinate QA/QC reviews of project development. Participate in Client Work Sessions. Responsible for applicable regional agency reviews and building code analysis. Perform construction administration duties including RFIs, RFPs, and change orders. Review shop drawings, material samples, and CD for conformance with design. Conduct and document field observations to monitor progress of construction. Coordinate work of consultants. Communicate with clients and make client presentations. Follow Perkins Eastman standards for project documentation and review. Keep Project Manager and Principal in Charge informed of progress or need for assistance. Mentor assigned staff. Little local travel may be involved to visit clients. May undergo background checks. Applicants may be required to submit a portfolio. Required Qualifications
Must have Bachelor’s in Architecture or related field and 8 years related architectural design experience. Skills (5 years exp) in: material identification and specifications; quality assurance of contract documents; assisting with the Construction Administration phases including meetings, submittals, and preparation of field sketches; working with zoning/building codes and building materials; 2D software including AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and affinity suite; 3D software including Revit, Rhino, Python, and SketchUp; visualization software including V-ray and Enscape; office automation software including Newforma, Microsoft Outlook, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and Deltek Vision; interior and exterior design and documentation; LEED documentation process. Skills (3 years exp): coordinating healthcare projects through all design phases; designing healthcare projects under HCAI (OSHPD) 1+3; generating Design Services Fee Proposals and responding to RFPs/RFQs; managing project teams and determining staffing requirements to meet project milestones; coordinating with consultants and design teams; utilizing LEAN delivery methods and Design-Builds; renovation and expansion projects including existing building survey and documentation and Construction Administration.
