Playground/Cafeteria Monitor | $15/hour | 3 hours per day
Location: Indian Grove Elementary School — River Trails School District 26
Reports To
Building Principal
Director of Foodservice provides feedback
Job Goal To supervise the students during recess and lunch, and support the Foodservice employee.
Qualifications
Ability to manage large groups of children and maintain order
Employee must be able to see and hear; speak, type and write English clearly
Able to work cooperatively with other production staff
Employee must obtain their food handlers license per state and local health department regulations
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, is required for extended periods of time
Lifting and moving 45 pounds
Work may be in hot, cold, and/or damp environments
Performance Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Reports to work on time
Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance
Reads and responds to district/building communications in a timely manner and within any explicitly defined deadlines
Supervises children and monitors student behavior in a positive manner according to District guidelines: lunchroom, hallways, to and from the classroom, and on the playground and equipment
Supervises children and monitors student behavior in the classrooms during indoor recess
Communicates inappropriate behavior to teachers and/or administration in a timely manner (orally or in writing)
Serves lunch to students, sells milk, keeps supplies stocked and assists the Foodservice employee to ensure all students are served efficiently
Is vigilant at all times when supervising on the playground or in unstructured indoor settings
At the end of lunch times: cleans and disinfects tables and chairs as needed, collects garbage and prepares lunchroom for the next group of students
Maintains cleanliness and order in the kitchen according to district standards
Implements and follows the district’s Health and Accident/Injury Procedures and Blood borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
Supports and implements the district’s Risk Management Policy to ensure health and safety rights are extended to all visitors, employees, and students
Participates in in-service training programs as directed by building administrator(s)
Performs additional duties as assigned by the building administrator(s)
Terms of Employment Job contingent upon Board approval. Salary and work year determined by Negotiated Agreement between the RTEA and the Board of Education.
