Staff Engineer Systems FW Architect
with demonstrated ability to lead systems engineers in the development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies. What You’ll Get To Do Define systems and demonstrations that combine technologies created by other MDA efforts into products that solve critical customer mission needs. Drive the development and integration plan leading to the successful demonstration of cutting-edge capabilities. Develop system level roadmaps capturing the advancement of MDA and other relevant technologies. Work with the customer, partner, and supplier communities to develop the system conceptual systems leading to major program milestones / reviews. Capture customer needs translating them into System-Level requirements and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs). Support functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. Developing and implementing test plans to verify that each embedded software function performs as intended. Analyzing system requirements and developing an implementation plan complete with functional definitions and reasoned allocation of those functions between hardware and software components. Providing systems test and integration support in the implementation of new systems or new baseline deployments. Support system technical performance measurement definition and tracking. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure system/software designs align with system requirements. Assist with the generation of well-defined and executable system, subsystem, and software requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents. This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD or Beavercreek, OH. Basic Qualifications For Staff Engineer Systems FW Architect Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 12 years of related experience, or 10 years with a MS Degree, or 8 years with a PhD. Experience with software programming languages including C, C++, and Python. Experience developing in a Linux and/or Windows environment. 5 years' experience in driving ASIC architecture decisions from a software point of view. Experience with interaction between hardware and software for different types of standard hardware blocks, CPU and accelerators. Experience with embedded systems debugging and system analysis tools. Familiarity with common source control tools (Git, Subversion, etc.). Candidate must be a US Citizen. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements. Preferred Qualifications For Staff Engineer Systems FW Architect Current active TS/SCI clearance with Poly. Advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field. Experience in architecting a software roadmap and implementation plan. Experience with embedded communications protocols such as SPI, I2C, and RS-232. Experience with the agile software development lifecycle. Experience with embedded systems development environments such as Xilinx Vitis and the GNU compiler collection (GCC) and related tools. Experience with test automation and instrument control. Experience with embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or Linux with PREEMPT_RT. Experience with deriving software requirements. Experience with creating design artifacts (e.g. UML) and design patterns. Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket and Gitlab.
