IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide. Our client is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to serve as the first point of contact for IT related support, providing tier 1 client support for all technical issues relating to installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance, hardware, software, printing, connectivity, mobile technology, and user set up and authorization, also working all requests, incidents, and problems through to resolution. The critical role of the Desktop Support Technician will strive to provide the best possible end user computing experience for all Milwaukee County employees, contractors, and vendors. The Desktop Support Technician will be hands on with building and imaging PCs and laptops, printer setup and maintenance, peripheral hardware support and maintenance and user account maintenance. This role is committed to addressing recurring issues through consistent ITIL practices. Responsibilities
Provide daily support for PC hardware and enterprise applications. Participate in installing, configuring, and maintenance of equipment. Install and troubleshoot peripherals for users. Aid in troubleshooting smartphones and other devices. Ask appropriate probing questions to gather information. Document, track and monitor client incidents and accurate resolution. Set client expectations when opening and executing on time in accordance with service guidelines. Prioritize and escalate support incidents and documented guidelines. Make recommendations to better assist end users and operating procedures. Acquire and maintain current knowledge of new technologies/applications. Assist in special projects as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to understand basic business practices. Ability to work in a high-stress environment. Take ownership for work and initiative for requests, incidents and problems. IT professionalism in all aspects of the position. Outstanding customer service skills and ability to prioritize projects and requests. Analytical skills: synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and design workflows and procedures. Problem solving: identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully. Teamwork: works as a team member across many locations; supports team success; respects others’ views. Cost consciousness: works within approved budget; contributes to profits and conserves resources. Ethics and integrity: treats people with respect and upholds organizational values. Judgment: makes timely and well-reasoned decisions; explains reasoning. Communication: communicates effectively and ensures smooth handoffs. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with all types of employees. Required: 6 months to 5 years in desktop support Experience deploying devices Experience working on the fly device repairs Associate’s degree in a related field Desired: Workstation, printer and peripheral maintenance and support skills General understanding of Client/Server environment Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory Solid understanding of Microsoft products, including Windows operating systems and Office suite Knowledge of ITIL practices A+ Certification Rate depends on experience Candidates authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.
