Who We’re Looking For: The Desktop Support Technician provides Tier 1 IT support, ensuring smooth operations across hardware, software, and connectivity. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, repairing, and maintaining systems, while also ensuring that issues are resolved effectively and documented accurately. The technician contributes to both day-to-day support and special projects. The Desktop Support Technician is the first point of contact for IT-related support, providing Tier 1 client assistance for technical issues involving installation, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and upgrades of PC hardware and equipment. The role ensures optimal workstation performance for hardware, software, printing, connectivity, mobile technology, user setup, and authorization. The technician is responsible for resolving requests, incidents, and problems through to completion, with a key focus on refreshing PCs as part of the asset lifecycle program. This role is hands-on, supporting PC and laptop builds and imaging, printer setup and maintenance, peripheral hardware support, and user account administration. The position is committed to addressing recurring issues through consistent ITIL practices, while delivering an excellent end-user computing experience for all employees, contractors, and vendors. Work Location: This is a 100% onsite position in Madison, WI Responsibilities: Provide daily support for PC hardware and software, including Windows 10, Office 365, and other enterprise applications Install, configure, and maintain computer operating systems and images Install and troubleshoot peripherals for users Assist with troubleshooting smartphones and other mobile devices Ask clear, relevant questions to diagnose and resolve issues Document, track, and monitor incidents and requests in the ticketing system to ensure timely resolution Set realistic expectations when opening and assigning tickets; ensure requests are completed in line with service-level agreements Prioritize and escalate incidents and requests based on business impact and established guidelines Recommend improvements to enhance user support and operational efficiency Stay current on hardware standards, core applications, and new technologies Assist in special projects as needed Participate in on-call rotation Qualifications: Desktop support Device troubleshooting and repairs Workstation, printer, and peripheral maintenance and support General understanding of client/server environments Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory Strong understanding of Microsoft products, including Windows operating systems and the Office suite of applications About Codeworks:
