for a hybrid work environment (4 days in office). Title: Metadata Systems Architect Compensation: $65-84/hour Type: 6-Month Contract Industry: Entertainment Key Responsibilities
Lead the assessment, restructuring, and modernization of digital and media asset management (DAM/MAM) systems and related workflows. Define and implement metadata standards, taxonomy frameworks, and tagging protocols for marketing and creative content. Establish consistent file naming conventions, folder structures, and hierarchical organization for efficient asset discovery and retrieval. Oversee the cataloging, tagging, and version control of digital marketing assets across formats, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Partner with creative, production, media, and analytics teams to eliminate redundancies, streamline workflows, and strengthen collaboration. Drive automation initiatives and integrate AI-based tools to enhance metadata tagging, quality assurance, and asset tracking. Develop governance frameworks for asset usage, system design, and lifecycle management. Support user adoption through documentation, training, and change-management efforts during system transitions. Conduct audits and manage the cleanup, migration, and consolidation of legacy content libraries. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in digital asset management, content operations, or media library systems within creative, marketing, or entertainment environments. Strong expertise in metadata and taxonomy design, content governance, and workflow optimization. Proven track record leading migrations from legacy systems to modern DAM/MAM platforms, including mapping, validation, and user enablement. Hands-on experience creating file naming conventions, ID systems, and metadata schemas to support asset lifecycle management. Familiarity with automation, APIs, integrations, and AI-powered solutions for asset tracking and metadata enrichment. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both creative and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated success collaborating across marketing, creative, IT, and vendor teams. Knowledge of production and post-production pipelines, rights management, and version control processes. Proficiency with platforms such as
Adobe AEM, Box, LucidLink, Google Drive , and familiarity with
Adobe Creative Suite . Preferred: Experience using
Airtable
and/or scripting tools to support process automation. Estimated Rates
