Overview
Infrastructure Engineer (Req #: 1061) — Peckham Industries, Inc. Location: Hudson Falls, NY. Full-time position with annual salary range $90,000.00 – $110,000.00. Responsibilities
Demonstrate professional expertise in designing, building, and supporting enterprise IT environments. Manage and support Microsoft Azure, SonicWALL/Fortinet firewalls, and Windows Server. Automate tasks using PowerShell and Python. Be part of a team of three engineers supporting cloud environments, server systems, and network infrastructure. Provide second and third-level support to the help desk and maintain effective documentation and communication across the organization. Plan, build, configure, monitor, and maintain network components (switches, routers, access points, voice appliances). Monitor network performance, perform capacity planning, and drive continuous improvement for security, availability, and performance. Ensure recovery protocols and redundancy for the network environment; prioritize and resolve faults promptly. Provide design, implementation, and operational support for VoIP systems and for Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure environments. Coordinate with sites for technician training and manage IP network appliances. Plan and manage small to large-scale projects; maintain all network infrastructure documentation. Address highly technical and complex network-related issues. Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems. Strong networking knowledge with experience in HPE/Aruba switches and Fortinet firewalls; Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer familiarity is a plus. Expertise in Azure cloud networking and server components; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. Solid understanding of network standards and best practices; experience with PowerShell scripting. Fundamental networking knowledge (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing). Experience with VoIP systems (Sangoma VoIP Telephony is a plus). Ability to assess risks of network maintenance outages; stay updated on IT infrastructure advancements. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in a team. Experience with IT ticketing systems and daily ticket updates. Senior IT role with mentoring responsibilities for other IT staff. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of quality technical experience (10 years for non-degree holders). Certifications: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900), Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), AZ-104 (or plan to acquire within 6 months), Fortinet NSE 4 (or plan within 1 year), Fortinet NSE 5 (or plan within 1 year). Travel: May require travel by personal vehicle to offices in New York and New England based on business needs.
