Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems. Strong knowledge of networking, particularly HPE/Aruba switches and Fortinet firewalls. Familiarity with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer is a plus. Expertise in Azure Cloud networking and server components. Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and related solutions. Solid grasp of network standards and best practices. Practical experience with PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and processes. Fundamental networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and network routing. Experience with VoIP systems, notably Sangoma VoIP Telephony, is a plus. Ability to evaluate risks associated with network maintenance outages and comprehend the resulting implications. Commitment to staying abreast of technological advancements in IT infrastructure. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Effective collaboration within a team environment. Solid understanding of IT ticketing systems, their functionality, and the importance of daily ticket updates. As a senior IT role, there is an expectation to train and mentor other IT staff in specialized areas of expertise. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/business discipline (or equivalent experience). A minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience (or 10 years for candidates without a degree). Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900). Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900). Responsibilities
Provide top-level technical expertise, developing strategies and guidance for network solutions utilizing both current and emerging technologies. Transform business requirements into effective network or process designs. Manage high- and low-level network planning, design, and optimization. Develop, implement, and uphold corporate policies, standards, and guidelines that align with the company’s strategic business goals as they relate to the corporate network. Plan and suggest network hardware, systems management software, and architectural needs. Construct, configure, and maintain network switches, routers, access points, and various voice appliances. Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and proactively assess and recommend enhancements. Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to maximize the network infrastructure’s performance, security, and reliability. Ensure the network environment maintains suitable recovery protocols and addresses redundancy issues. Prioritize network faults effectively, diagnose and resolve issues promptly, and remain composed under pressure from various impacted business groups. Provide design, implementation, and operational support for VoIP telephony systems, in addition to Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure environments. Coordinate with sites to facilitate technician training on new hardware. Oversee the daily monitoring and management of IP network appliances. Develop and adhere to procedures for managing network fault events. Engage in system-wide/cross-functional team management. Plan and execute small to large-scale projects. Maintain comprehensive documentation related to network infrastructure. Responsible for resolving highly technical and complex network-related challenges.
