Overview AECOM is seeking a Wetland Scientist/Environmental Permitting Specialist within our Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) Practice in the Northeast US. This role supports the Power/Electric Transmission market sector, state/local and industrial client sectors. The position focuses on projects supporting electrical transmission infrastructure and renewables, including offshore wind interconnects and solar development, as well as industrial, commercial and state/federal projects including ecosystem restoration. Ability to lead or co-lead wetland delineations and wildlife surveys is desirable. The position is based in New England and can be remote, with time split between field and office.

Specific prior experience supporting natural resources field studies, surveys and environmental permitting of electrical transmission projects is required, with particular focus in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Hampshire highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Support and execute natural resources field studies, surveys and environmental permitting for electrical transmission projects, with emphasis on Northeast/New England locations.

Lead or co-lead wetland delineations and wildlife surveys (as desirable).

Prepare technical reports and provide permitting support in the Northeast/New England.

Collaborate with the Environmental Planning & Permitting team to execute projects across client sectors, including offshore wind energy permitting.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Biology, Wetland Science, Ecology, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology or related field + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Wetlands delineation experience in Northeast/New England.

Technical report preparation and permitting support in the Northeast/New England.

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS with 6+ years of experience.

Lead wetland delineation expertise.

Experience supporting wetlands delineation, T&E surveys and GIS background.

Permitting experience in RI, NH, ME, CT or NY and NJ.

Relocation is not available for this position.

About compensation: Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $71,000.00 - $108,000.00.
