Non-exempt (compensatory and/or overtime eligible); full-time; 40 hours per week; Monday — Friday; 7:30 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.; full-benefits This administrative civilian position is responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting on data in the Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Unit of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. The position will be involved in all aspects of the program to include maintaining accurate records and documentation. Supervision is received from the Sergeant of the Body-Worn Camera Unit. In the absence of the Body-Worn Camera Unit Sergeant, supervision is received from the Commander of Technology and Training Services. NOTE: The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate. Oversee Body Worn Camera (BWC) data and footage by ensuring accurate entry, proper categorization and accessibility for case files and cross-referencing Assist in managing the Sheriff’s Office digital evidence management system that collects and stores BWC recordings and field captured digital evidence Research and develop records, reports, and other documentation relate to the program Ensure entries are complete, accurate and in compliance of rules and regulations; review and redact videos to ensure the release is in accordance with federal, state, and local statutes, established policies and procedures, and the Maryland Public Information Act Assist with quality assurance of BWC audit functions Review Body-Worn Camera (BWC) footage and disseminate content to appropriate parties in compliance with agency protocols. Process digital evidence requests and release materials in accordance with applicable laws, statutes, and departmental policy Prepare monthly reports; generate documentation to accompany statistical reports Develop reporting analytics to support data review, ensuring all reports are current, accurate, and comprehensive; verify that data entries meet regulatory standards and compliance requirements Provide back-up support for administrative staff and other positions when needed Facilitate training services by developing and delivering digital media for instructional use; provide staff training on software and equipment operation; troubleshoot and perform maintenance on digital media devices and related technologies Maintain and assign digital evidence and physical inventory related to the Body-Worn Camera Unit (BWCU) Develop and release presentations for the Public Information Officer (PIO) regarding critical incidents and public communications Testify in court in criminal proceedings as needed As needed, perform general clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, entering data into a computer, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, or prepares outgoing mail/packages, or receiving incoming packages Assist with the dissemination of information in accordance with public records laws, Sheriff’s Office policies, and Frederick County policies and administrative regulation, as needed Drive County vehicle to court, as needed Perform other related duties as required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
