Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team supporting the DOI BSEE TIMS contract. TekSynap is a fast growing high-tech company delivering information management solutions for Federal Government customers. Conduct meetings with stakeholders to clarify and understand business requirements. Establish the high-level sprint schedule. Create, design, update, document and implement logical and physical database changes. Design and implement solutions based on industry best practices. Utilize existing SOA services where feasible; build new SOA services, APIs and microservices when applicable, ensuring code is modular, reusable and portable. Modify or write online programs, unit test cases, batch programs, interfaces, configuration changes, and reports; build unit tests and integration tests as necessary. Ensure proper exception handling and logging. Identify and resolve information assurance weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Perform peer code reviews and ensure automation build failures due to code issues are resolved. Work at a high level for all phases of system/database development/management and set priorities to meet user needs. Define system scope and objectives and devise procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and limitations. Prepare detailed specifications for programs and participate in design, implementation, integration, management, and maintenance of complex databases, including security, documentation, and evaluation of IT products. May direct the work of other developers. Core Tool Proficiency

Oracle BI Answers / Analysis Editor: ad-hoc queries, visualizations, prompts, navigation, conditional formatting. Oracle BI Dashboards: interactive dashboards, embedded analyses, dashboard page management and prompts. BI Publisher: pixel-perfect reports; understanding data models, layouts, and translation capabilities. RPD Modeling: understanding the Oracle BI Repository and the three layers (Physical, BMM, Presentation); basic to intermediate modification of RPD. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

DOI Entry on Duty (EOD) background check. Eight years of technical experience in applications software development; three years in systems analysis; one year as a technical lead. Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science or related area. Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database design principles. Competence in Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle Analytics Publisher and Oracle BI Reports. Familiarity with Oracle APEX development and database management. Desired Qualifications

Understanding of database architecture. Proficiency in Git for version control. Familiarity with REST and Web API services for integration. Strong SQL skills and knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schemas, SCDs). Experience with Oracle APEX development, security features, and integration with other systems.
