Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) Responsibilities The Desktop Support Team provides PC support for NWRDC/SDC and FLVC. This also includes AV support for conferences and events. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of IT/Deputy CTO for the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC). This position manages the Desktop Support team, which provides support to over 70 positions both on-site and remote. This position provides technical guidance and leadership on events and functions that FLVC coordinates. Responsible for managing and supervising members of the desktop support team. These responsibilities include but are not limited to hiring, performance evaluation, timesheet approval, work hours, team structure, task assignment and coordination, and discipline. Provides guidance and assistance to all FLVC staff members of both a technical and leadership nature. Leads by example in all areas. Responsible for providing Customer Service and team leadership for various assigned projects. This includes gathering necessary resources from other teams to accomplish the needs of the customer. Communicates customer based tasks and project needs with supervisor and other members of senior management and works with FLVC's Project Managers to facilitate customer needs. Develop and deploy tools for use by other desktop engineers and IT support staff furthering their ability to manage their areas of responsibility. Performs work in support of any audio/visual and conferencing needs for the organization. Provides end-user training and support for application software and hardware. Documents business process for all job tasks. Maintains inventory of hardware and software, including the hardware components, software product, version, service and license agreements and all network equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs work in support of business processes and projects, as assigned. Performs time- sensitive tasks and meets established deadlines; maintains effective communications with appropriate FLVC staff; maintains effective working relationships to ensure the success of the business processes and projects. Participates in an after-hours support and/or team on-call rotation in support of a 24x7 data center. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years' experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to eight years.) Helpful Who is an ideal candidate for this position? Managing a team of Desktop Support Technicians to support the desktop computing needs of the organization. What can I expect in the first 60-90 days? To manage and lead the Desktop teams needs for the organization.
