Overview

The Applications Development Chemist is responsible for developing new commercial applications for polymers. This position develops projects in an assigned product/customer area; contributes to the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of proposals, plans and organizes research effort; analyzes research outcomes and makes recommendations to the team and customers. Become the lead technical and market development chemist responsible for investigation and utilization of elastomers in electrified vehicles (BEV, xEV). Collaborate with OEMs, tier suppliers, and fluid suppliers in the successful implementation of elastomers in next-gen thermal management and driveline sealing/fluid routing applications. Role Responsibilities

Plan, conduct, and direct projects of major importance related to developing new commercial applications Apply technical knowledge in support of customers’ use of products and develop business relationships within all areas of supply chain Resolve technical problems requiring application of knowledge Originate and apply new and unique problem-solving approach Business Development Activities

Develop and maintain customer relationships alongside others on the Applications Team Prepare and present technical info to interested parties (customers, technical meetings, etc.) Analyze research and make technical recommendations regarding product-line Reporting Activities

Prepare monthly reports Write research reports upon completion of projects Collaboration

Collaborate with and provide technical advice to other professionals inside and outside the organization Exchange information with other chemists and scientists through professional organizations Compliance

Comply with all Safety, Health, and Environmental policies & procedures Adhere to the company’s Integrated Management System Other Responsibilities

Salary

$100,000 - $120,000 Benefits and Relocation
