As a recently public company, you’ll have autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. About the role Our Platform is the foundation of our Connected Operations solution. It is a hub-and-spoke model where all products — safety, route planning, maintenance, fuel efficiency, EV reporting, etc. — are the spokes that engage users and connect back to the central hub. The platform includes core infrastructure and customer-facing features, with customers logging into Samsara through the platform and interacting with dashboards, reports, settings, and alerts. The platform is the central interface for insights and management, regardless of product. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer in the Platform team, you’ll own the systems you build, shape products that prevent crashes and emissions, and create world-class systems at scale. You’ll take full technical ownership of features used by thousands of fleets worldwide, solving real-world problems that cut CO₂ and keep people safe. You’ll work with product managers, designers, firmware and infrastructure engineers to design, build, test, and deliver end-to-end products. You’ll develop skills across multiple technologies and own the production systems in your domain. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States. Work with product managers, designers, firmware, and infra engineers to architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile. Our stack includes Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and React Native. Direct experience with these technologies is not required. Maintain the production systems owned by your team and provide operational support. Help build a positive team culture and an enjoyable workplace. Solve problems that enable our product for global customers. Partner with other teams to capture requirements for prioritization and evangelize the platform we are building. Model and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally. Minimum requirements
2+ years of professional experience building customer-facing applications Strong programming fundamentals in Java, Python, Golang, or TypeScript Experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems Ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver milestones with a team An ideal candidate also has
Experience with a public cloud such as AWS Familiarity with multi-tier architectures (e.g., React Frontends and Microservices) Proven track record of delivering value to customers Curiosity about customers and desire to improve their day-to-day experience Loves shipping features used by customers Interest in iterating on new products based on feedback Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science or related field Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy : Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. This includes base salary, bonus/variable, and RSU awards for eligible roles. New hires may receive an RSU award at the time of hire, with additional RSU refresh grants possible annually. We pay for performance, and top performers may receive above-market equity refresh awards. Base pay for this position ranges from $105,910 to $178,000 USD depending on location, experience, and other factors. We welcome everyone regardless of background.
