Our client is seeking an experienced
IT Business Analyst
to support a key project within the Natural Gas sector. This role will focus on enhancements to an existing Gas Accounting System, particularly in the context of integrating processes from recent mergers and acquisitions. Candidates must bring domain experience specific to
natural gas , which is distinct from broader oil & gas experience. Familiarity with processes such as nominations, scheduling, measurement, allocations, and billing is highly valued. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements. Perform gap analysis between current and target states. Create and manage user stories and tasks using tools like JIRA. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, and defect tracking. Work closely with IT and business teams to ensure alignment on project deliverables and goals. Required Qualifications
Prior experience working with
natural gas transmission or distribution companies . Understanding of key industry concepts such as: Contracts, Capacity Release, Nominations, Confirmations Scheduling, Measurement, Allocations, Billing Imbalance Trading, Cashout, EDI, NAESB, FERC Note: Candidates do not need experience with all keywords listed but should demonstrate familiarity with several. Proficiency with IT tools including JIRA, MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise between technical and business teams.
