In this role, you will design, synthesize, and modify peptides to support early-stage drug discovery in a fast-moving startup company, where adaptability and a hands-on approach are essential. Primary Job Responsibilities: Develop and refine peptide synthesis techniques using both manual and automated solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) methods. Analyze peptide purity and structural integrity through advanced instrumentation, including HPLC and LC-MS. Apply post-synthetic modifications to enhance peptide properties, ensuring optimal functionality for drug discovery applications. Innovate and streamline lab workflows by improving automation processes and optimizing synthesis protocols for increased efficiency. Ensure meticulous data management by maintaining accurate documentation in electronic lab notebooks and adhering to safety regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and troubleshoot experimental approaches, advancing peptide-based therapeutic research. Primary Job Requirements: Degree in Peptide Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field with industry experience in peptide synthesis. Proficiency in automated peptide synthesizers and analytical techniques, including HPLC and LC-MS. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot synthesis challenges and refine workflows. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage data integrity in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN). Effective collaborator who thrives in interdisciplinary research and team-based environments. Commitment to continuous learning with a proactive approach to knowledge-sharing and mentorship.
