The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia is seeking applicants for three tenure-ineligible positions as Assistant/Associate or Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine within the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. These roles focus on clinical operations but include protected time for scholarly pursuits, based on a proven record of achievement. The position offers a faculty appointment in the UVA School of Medicine. Led by Dr. Andrew E. Muck, MD, MBA, the Department is establishing a new division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, headed by Dr. Elisabeth A. Rogers. We seek motivated individuals who value patient care and collaboration, playing a key role in shaping this new division. The department has an established residency program and fellowships in various specialties. UVA Health System is a 700-bed Level 1 Trauma Center with an annual ED census of 70,000, including 16,000 pediatric patients, from a broad geographic area. Our pediatric population has high acuity and a 15% admission rate, supported by comprehensive pediatric subspecialty services. Faculty in the division will have opportunities to grow as clinicians, educators, researchers, and leaders, with responsibilities spanning clinical care, administrative duties, and committee participation. Qualifications:

Candidates must have an MD or DO, with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Those with backgrounds in pediatrics and emergency medicine, and a record of excellence in clinical care, education, or research, are encouraged to apply.
