Assistant Professor in Creative Writing (Fiction) – University of Florida Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) • Work Type: Full Time • Tenure-track, 9-month Responsibilities

Teach in the BA track and MFA program in creative writing, with a focus on fiction; the normal teaching assignment is two courses per semester. Maintain an active writing and publication career. Teach four courses per academic year at undergraduate and graduate levels; mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students. Contribute service to the Department, the university, and the profession, including MFA program coordination (events planning, admissions, student mentoring, curriculum oversight) and engagement with departmental committees and processes. Qualifications

Minimum: highest degree appropriate to the field or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. A book or substantial record of literary works is required. Preferred: MFA and/or PhD in Creative Writing strongly preferred. Interest in genres beyond literary fiction (creative nonfiction, screenplays, YA fiction and/or children's literature, and graphic literature). Service or administrative experience is desirable.
