Overview
PREP Research Associate — This position is part of the National Institute of Standards (NIST) Professional Research Experience (PREP) program. The PREP program supports collaboration between NIST staff and researchers at academic institutions on projects of mutual interest. Responsibilities
Identify and develop metrics for NIST's Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts to assess industrial uptake and impact. Become familiar with NIST's AI outputs and stakeholders. Perform a literature review and analysis on approaches and metrics to measure uptake and impact. Conduct a detailed analysis using relevant statistical tools on the status and uptake of NIST AI outputs and provide metrics on impacts and trends. Provide recommendations on opportunity areas where NIST should dedicate resources to realize greater impact of AI outputs. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business/Economics, Social Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field. Familiarity with artificial intelligence, statistical analysis, and data collection. Understanding of American government and politics. Strong oral and written communication skills. Application Instructions
