The successful candidate will collaborate on quantitative genetic field experiments and on models of range-wide responses to climate change. This position includes a combination of fieldwork in common gardens arrayed across a latitudinal gradient (Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ontario) and laboratory work at the University of Georgia (Athens, GA), with the potential for additional short-term field collection trips in the eastern U.S. Duties/Responsibilities
Conducting Experiments:
Independently conducting experiments and fieldwork at common gardens. Data entry and basic analysis and interpretation of results.
Analyzing Experiments:
Independently analyzing data sets using dynamic tools: Perform quality assurance/quality control assessment of data sets. Lead component of research related to discover, document, and understand the complex feedbacks by processing samples for stable analysis.
Writing and Dissemination:
Write manuscripts, give talks, and disseminate results.
Training and Mentoring:
Provide training and mentoring to graduate students and undergraduate workers in the group to utilize bioinformatics tools and techniques for their own projects. Critically review the global research advances in the relevant fields and contribute to the development of research proposals to support Dr. Anderson’s interests. Any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology or relevant field. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
