Full Time, In-Person About The Role Want to make a difference in children’s lives and in the community? Become a Therapeutic Mentor with Arbour Counseling Services! Our team of Therapeutic Mentors help youth under the age of 21 with mental health or behavioral challenges to develop specific independent life skills as a part of a clinical treatment team. Our Therapeutic Mentors offer structured, one-on-one, strength-based support, modeling and training in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and relating appropriately to other youth or adults, all while doing fun activities in the community! Services can take place in parks, basketball courts, libraries, animal shelters, museums, malls and any other place/activity that may peak the youth’s interest. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their knowledge and/or pursue higher education in the field of mental health and social work. What We Offer Mileage/Toll/Parking Reimbursement Monthly Cell Phone Stipend Competitive compensation & generous PTO Yearly Tuition Reimbursement License prep, testing fee & licensing fees covered by Arbour Free CEU’s 401(k) with 5% company match Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Drug Plans Internal advancement opportunities ~ leadership & management training Growth Opportunities Employee Referral Bonus Program 24/7 Support through Internal Crisis Line Employee assistance program (EAP) Weekly licensure Supervision Electronic Health Record (EHR) System Company outings Perks at Work Program offering employee discounts on travel, electronics, entertainment, home appliances, food, auto, per insurance, and more Essential Responsibilities Meeting individually with youth in the community for Skill Building Coordinate with youth’s therapist and guardian to assist in achieving treatment goals Assist youth in building various coping, life, social, behavior and emotion management skills Implement therapeutic interventions, from therapist treatment plan to address youth’s mental health, behavioral and emotional needs by education and practice in emotional needs by education and practice in emotional identification and management and skills coaching Coordinate care with collateral contacts Provide telephone coaching and support with youth as needed Complete documentation of all meetings and collateral contacts Attend weekly staff/department meeting and supervision Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in Psychology, Human Services, or a related field At least one year working with children, youth and/or adolescents A valid Massachusetts driver’s license Daily access to a working, registered and insured vehicle Excellent in both written and verbal communications Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own schedule and client services Knowledge of Microsoft computer systems Strong time management skills and organization skills Bilingual applicants encouraged Candidates must possess appropriate citizenship work documentation Candidates must pass a CORI and drug test, as well as other pre-employment documentation EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
