JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing case management, rehabilitative, individual and group services to dually diagnosed clients of an Assertive Community Treatment program. The majority of services provided will be in the community of Baltimore City, including homes, shelters, and other public places. Responsibilities
Conducts individual substance abuse counseling and group counseling (manual-based) services to severely mentally ill consumers both in a community-based center and at the consumer’s place of residence. Establishes rapport with consumers, implements clinical interventions, conducts substance abuse assessments in the community, and engages in crisis management. Educates patients about abuse of drugs, HIV risk prevention, other substance abuse/recovery-related issues; including working on dual diagnosis issues. Participates in treatment plan development as it relates to client needs. Prepares reports and maintains records for assigned caseload. This includes progress notes, treatment plans, monthly summaries and psycho-socials. Participates in crisis management and crisis intervention of client when necessary. Requirements
Requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired by completion of a BA or BS in psychology, or related behavioral health fields from an accredited college or university. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services major required. CSC-AD or CAC-AD Certification preferred. Work requires ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written fashion. Work requires ability to operate a computer and applications such as Windows, Excel, etc. Requires a valid MD Driver's License with less than 2 points on the driving record and ability to be cleared by Fleet Safety to operate organizational vehicles.
