Purification Post-Doctoral Scientist - Network TSMS
Position beginning Aug 1, 2025. This Post-Doctoral scientist role provides technical and scientific support within a dynamic manufacturing environment for the synthesis, purification, and formulation of various small molecules, peptides, and protein products. The successful candidate will design and execute experiments to advance manufacturing knowledge, process optimization, and production technical transfer. Scientists contribute to the TS/MS organization and have opportunities for cross-functional collaboration to develop a comprehensive understanding of GMP, regulatory requirements, and the role of scientists in providing solutions for Lilly and its patients.
Responsibilities
Ensuring reliability of manufacturing systems
Searching for and implementing innovative improvements
Driving technical projects
Maintaining processes in a state of compliance with US and global regulations
Designing and developing drug manufacturing and delivery systems
Understanding scientific principles required for manufacturing intermediates and bulk drug substances, including chemistry and equipment interactions
Understanding the chemistry and stability of synthetic and biomolecules and associated analytical tools
Developing laboratory-scale models and methods for key process steps in reactions and purification of peptides and biomolecules
Designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments to deepen process understanding and optimize steps and reactions
Understanding scale-up requirements and partnering with manufacturing plants for scale-up and investigative work as needed
Providing technical support for other process development areas as needed
Documenting all work appropriately
Mentoring lab associates to enhance their technical capabilities
Participating in technology transfer to other laboratories/plants as needed
Basic Requirements
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
Understanding of synthetic molecule/peptide chemistry and purification
Demonstrated record of scientific achievement
Demonstrated problem solving abilities
Ability to work well independently and in teams

The anticipated wage for this position is $58,000 - $100,320.
