Science Teacher
with an SEI Endorsement who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. Our district emphasizes high achievement expectations, equitable access to quality instruction, and closing achievement gaps among subgroups. Reports to: Principal/Head of School Responsibilities
Teach General Science in an SEI setting. Design interdisciplinary courses aligned with state curricular frameworks, fostering understanding of science as a way of thinking and investigating. Implement district learning goals and curriculum developed by the Science Department. Use research-based curriculum to challenge students to engage in scientific inquiry. Assess student progress through district assessments and adjust instruction accordingly. Core Competencies

Set high goals, assess understanding regularly, and adapt instruction to meet student needs. Communicating Content Knowledge:

Differentiate instruction, motivate students, and foster an inclusive environment. Cultural Proficiency:
Respect diverse backgrounds and create an inclusive classroom environment. Parent/Family Engagement:

Reflect on practice, seek feedback, and collaborate with colleagues. Qualifications - Required
Bachelor's degree. Massachusetts Teaching License in General Science for the appropriate grade level. Meet all licensing and qualification standards. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Qualifications - Preferred
Experience in urban schools. SEI Endorsement or dual certification in ESL. Degree in science or education. Fluency in one of BPS's official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali). Certification in additional areas such as Moderate Disabilities or ESL is preferred. Terms
