Schedule:
Monday - Friday We’re looking for an experienced, energetic, imaginative Managing Chef who shares our vision for the reinvented lunch and readily embraces diverse nutritional needs. Our Managing Chef has a passion for creating unforgettable food experiences, takes a detail-oriented approach to elevating dishes, and wants to learn valuable business skills to further their career. We provide daily lunch for some of the hottest startups. We need a chef who works well in a fast-paced environment, and is responsive to the needs of our clients. If you excel in the kitchen, love to experiment with fresh ingredients and can easily take feedback in stride, apply now and let’s get cooking! What You\'ll Be Doing
Design, prepare and coordinate unique weekly menus for all dietary needs and restrictions Spearhead execution of new product lines and culinary practices Participate in critical discussions regarding eater satisfaction and business growth Act as liaison between business team and culinary team regarding client details and feedback Hire kitchen staff with support from culinary leadership Manage, coach and train the kitchen staff with support from culinary leadership Own supply ordering and inventory; oversee COGS Monitor and manage portion control and food costs Execute strict quality control and assurance Ensure kitchen operations meet company and facility standards Comply with and enforce sanitary regulations and safety standards Our ideal candidate
Has 1-3 years of kitchen leadership experience Enjoys exercising creativity in menu development Understands diverse cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment Is a natural leader in practice and attitude Has excellent communication skills Thinks quickly and critically under pressure Is willing to learn and adopt business needs and practices Is comfortable managing, organizing, and communicating using technology Is experienced with Google applications (Gmail, Google Drive), Microsoft Office Perks + benefits
Compensation: $90k-95k per year + yearly bonus opportunity; negotiable based on experience Company-sponsored health insurance plans, including 100% company-paid HDHP, as well as vision + dental opt-in 401(k) program available after six months of employment Unlimited paid time off; 10 paid company holidays; paid winter break Monthly cell phone usage reimbursement Free lunch during meal service 100% mileage reimbursement Opportunities to take on larger roles within our organization + learn with a fast-growing start-up Eligibility:
This position must maintain ServSafe Food Manager certification; must have a valid driver\'s license and can operate a personal or company vehicle Work environment:
This position is based in a commercial kitchen and occasionally on-site in client offices Physical requirements:
