This position is considered to be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Compounding, responsible for creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions, as well as conducting training with employees. All work is performed in accordance with applicable SOP and work instructions (WI). The Compounding Technical Trainer will execute the required training defined in the training curriculum by the Training Coordinator. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Supports R&D, engineering, quality, compounding, production, and maintenance with trial runs, new product start-ups, equipment validations, and SOP development and execution. Executes all required training based on the KDCU training curriculum to ensure all new employees are trained within the onboarding period. Audits the training database to identify gaps in training. Coordinates and executes any missing or expired training for current employees to ensure training is completed within the targeted goals of the plant. Reviews and recommends updates to current SOPs, work instructions, housekeeping guidelines, manufacturing instructions, and other manuals/materials. Documents and communicates these updates to all affected departments to ensure related databases are accurate and up-to-date. Assists in defining and documenting Standard Work procedures for the Compounding area. Participates in Visual Factory, 6S, Kaizen, and Lean projects that support continuous improvement initiatives, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: Two years of training experience preferred. Three years of manufacturing experience with exposure to compounding processes preferred. HS Diploma or GED equivalent required with college-level courses preferred. Microsoft Office Suite experience required with specific emphasis in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Previous technical writing experience preferred. Minimum Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Able to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as required to conduct training, develop SOPs, and other work materials. Wear hairnet, safety glasses, long pants, steel toe shoes/boots, and any other uniform standards. Read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions. Sit, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods of time in one place. Lift items up to 80 lbs. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to effectively and efficiently write SOPs and WIs related to manufacturing processes. Ability to train employees on operational SOPs and WIs. Ability to promote and participate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Ability to adapt to rotating assignments with a positive attitude and results. Good understanding of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices Regulations (GMPs) and OSHA safety requirements. Self-starter with strong work ethic and positive attitude. Strong communication (both written and oral), interpersonal, team building, and organizational skills. Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time efficiently and effectively. Familiar with traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
