Assistant Professor in Nutrition — University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNC Greensboro). The Department of Nutrition within the School of Health and Human Sciences seeks a 9-month tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in one or more areas of nutrition including community nutrition, nutrition education, global nutrition, nutrition and chronic disease prevention, nutrition policy, clinical nutrition, and nutritional epidemiology. The Department of Nutrition is located in the School of Health and Human Sciences (HHS). HHS aims to inspire and equip students, faculty, and staff to transform institutions and make the world healthier and safer. HHS has eight departments and three interdisciplinary programs, with a diverse faculty and student population and extensive research activity. General Information On The Department Of Nutrition
Eight tenured/tenure-track Faculty lines, three Academic Professional lines and one Lecturer. Three undergraduate concentrations – Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Nutrition Science, and Community Nutrition and Wellness (over 100 undergraduate students). Three graduate programs – M.S. (thesis and non-thesis); MS/Dietetic Internship and Ph.D. (over 40 graduate students). Two ACEND-accredited dietetics programs: a Didactic Program in Dietetics and a post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship Program. Research areas include maternal and infant nutrition, women’s health, nutrition education and food insecurity, nutrient transport and metabolism, nutrition and inflammation, brain function and cancer, and nutrition’s impact on physical performance. Position Summary
The Department seeks to fill a 9-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with preferred expertise in one or more of the following: community nutrition, nutrition education, global nutrition, nutrition and chronic disease prevention, nutrition policy, clinical nutrition, and nutritional epidemiology. Minimum Qualifications
Earned Doctorate in nutrition or closely related field. Evidence of ability or potential to develop an independent, externally funded research program. Ability or potential to teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability and willingness to collaborate in a collegial team atmosphere. Active memberships in appropriate professional organizations. Post-doctoral experience and RD credential preferred. Application Instructions
