Assistant Professor specializing in Dietetics and Nutrition position at University of Dayton Research Institute. The UD Dietetics and Nutrition program prepares students for the RDN credential and offers ACEND-accredited undergraduate programs and partnered graduate plus internship programs. The department seeks a tenure-track faculty member to teach, mentor, and engage in research within the undergraduate and partnered graduate program, contributing to teaching, mentoring, research, and service. Position Details

This is a 9-month tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank. Service begins August 16, 2026. Some summer teaching opportunities may be available depending on program and department needs. Responsibilities

Teach across the dietetics curriculum (undergraduate and graduate). Provide academic and professional development mentoring to students. Mentor and coordinate graduate-level research projects and support data collection for the accredited programs. Engage in research and service in alignment with the unit and university missions. Qualifications

ABD nearing completion in dietetics or nutrition or related field. Registered Dietitian (RDN). Minimum 1 year of practice-based RDN experience beyond the dietetic internship. Experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level. Potential for excellence in developing a research agenda related to dietetics and willingness to teach across the curriculum, including research courses. Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in dietetics, nutrition, or related field. Two or more years of practice-based RDN experience beyond the internship. Successful experience teaching at least three years at the collegiate level in North American higher education. Evidence of scholarly activity in dietetics and nutrition. Experience with community-based collaboration, diverse communities, accreditation data collection, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, mentoring, and fostering an engaging classroom environment. Commitment to inclusive excellence and social justice in education and service.
