The Mechanical Engineering Department at The City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for full-time (tenure-track) faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in areas related to Mechanical Engineering. The CCNY Department of Mechanical Engineering is a vibrant unit within the Grove School of Engineering. The department upholds the highest enrollment among the engineering majors and is committed to excellence in research, teaching, and innovation and fosters a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Faculty are engaged in cutting-edge research across a wide range of areas in mechanical engineering. We invite applications from outstanding candidates whose research and teaching interests intersect with mechanical engineering and demonstrate strong potential for impact in one or more of the following areas: Fundamental heat transfer and thermal-fluids systems Energy, including nuclear and renewable energy Fluid dynamics, including turbulence and multi-phase flows Materials engineering and design, particularly at the intersection of data-driven methods, computational mechanics or smart materials Advanced manufacturing, especially digital manufacturing, additive processes, or cyber-physical production systems We especially welcome applicants whose work leverages AI to advance innovation in materials, robotics, manufacturing, or other relevant areas and who can collaborate across disciplinary boundaries within the department and beyond. The successful candidates will be expected to actively engage in research, develop an externally funded research program, teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new courses, mentor/advise students at all levels, and contribute to the overall academic wellbeing of the department. Candidates with significant experience and an extensive research and publication record may be considered for the rank of Associate Professor. Candidates must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States. Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. Preferred Qualifications
